Malda, formerly called English Bazaar is a city in Maldah, located on the banks of the Mahananda River. It is known for its delectable mangoes and the museum which houses the archaeological finds at Gour and Pandua. Gaur, capital of three dynasties of ancient Bengal: the Buddhists Palas, the Hindu Senas and the Muslim Nawabs have seen three distinct eras of glory. It has many historical relics namely Bara Sona Mosque, Dakhil Darwajah, Qadam Rasul Mosque, Lattan Mosque. Pandua is known for the third largest concentration of Muslim monuments of Bengal. Adina Masjid, built in 1369 by Sikandar Shah is one of the largest mosques in India. more
